In a small flat, the bed takes up the most space: a 140×200 bed occupies around 3 m² of floor space – permanently, even during the day. A wall bed gives you this space back every morning: when folded up, only the carcass, 40–55 cm deep, remains against the wall.

The floor-space calculation
| Standard bed 140×200 | Wall bed 140×200 (folded up) | |
|---|---|---|
| Permanently occupied space | approx. 3 m² (plus room to move around) | approx. 0.6–0.9 m² carcass footprint |
| Usable during the day as | – | free space / sofa (on sofa models) |
What wall width do you need?
- M3 Vertical 100×200: from 117 cm wall width – the most compact model (ceiling height 225.2 cm, room depth of 246.8 cm to fold it down).
- M2 Horizontal 100×200: 217.6 cm wall width, but only 128 cm wall height – for alcoves under windows or sloping ceilings.
- M1 Vertical: only 40 cm deep – when room depth is the limiting factor.
Studio flat: bed and sofa in one
The sofa versions replace two pieces of furniture at once: a fully fledged sofa by day, and at night the bed folds down over the sofa – the bedding stays in place thanks to clip straps. That way your flat needs neither a visible bed nor a separate sofa.

Frequently asked questions
Will a wall bed fit in a 12 m² room?
Yes. A vertical M3 in 100x200 cm needs only 117 cm of wall width and, when folded up, occupies just 0.65 m² of floor space (117 × 55 cm). What matters is a clear room depth of 246.8 cm to fold it down.
How much floor space does a wall bed save compared with a standard bed?
A standard 140x200 bed permanently occupies around 3 m². A folded-up wall bed of the same size needs only its carcass footprint of approx. 0.6–0.9 m² – the rest of the space is free to use during the day.
Which wall bed is suitable for a studio flat?
With a sofa version, the sleeping area becomes the living room during the day: e.g. the M3 Vertical with sofa (from 100x200) or, with a low ceiling, the M2 Horizontal with sofa. That way your flat doesn't need a separate bed AND sofa.
